311. Enormous

The roads and skyscrapers in the US are huge - this view down a Chicago city centre high street being no exception.

308. Keepsakes

Beautiful leaves from our trip - a little keepsake.

307. Industrial

A view of industrial Chicago, from the road.

306. Vanity

B and I did a lot of photographing ourselves in the amazing Cloud Gate sculpture in Millennium Park, Chicago.

305. New York

I never thought I would be able to complete this theme with an actual photograph from New York, as we hadn't planned to travel there this year. Our trip was quite short notice and, as always, I took lots of snaps while we were there. However, I have chosen this snap of the Brooklyn Bridge, with New York City in the background as my shot for this theme - I love the bridge; it's one of my favourite pieces of architecture and so photogenic. It is up there with the Chrysler Building and Empire State if you want to photograph icons of the city.

304. Chaos

Traffic queueing to get onto Manhattan, across the Williamsburg Bridge - chaotic as on the other side were no working traffic lights in the power outages.

303. Unexpected

Enjoying a quiet moment on the lakeshore, just after B proposed - most unexpectedly.

302. Vacation

The stunning view over Lake Ontario as the sunset. Such a special, memorable spot.

301. Stop sign

This is such a typical American scene - the yellow school bus and bright red stop signs.

300. Travel

En route through Ohio and Indiana, I amused myself trying to snap photos of the amazingly shiny trucks.  I like the red ones the best.

299. Spontaneous

This bride and her gaggle of bridesmaids were in Millennium Park, Chicago, doing the bouquet throwing. I grabbed the opportunity to get a shot or two - I just love the expressions on their faces!

298. Near

Very brave squirrel in Niagara Falls State Park - clearly very used to tourists as he let me get very close with a lens in his face. No zooming here!
